Cholet signs Johnathan Williams III, ex Suwon KT

Cholet Basket (Betclic ELITE ProA) signed 31-year old American center Johnathan Williams III (206cm-94kg-1995, college: Gonzaga, agency: Diamond Sports). He was the top rebounder at Suwon KT Sonicboom in the South Korean KBL league. He managed to play in three leagues in two countries last year. In 7 KBL games, he had 7.6ppg, 6.4rpg, and 1.0apg. Williams also played for Lions (SLB) in the British league. The team played in three different competitions that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. He also played 12 games in the British SLB where he recorded 9.2ppg, 4.5rpg, and 1.6apg. Finally, he contributed to 13 games in Eurocup where he averaged 8.7ppg, 5.6rpg, and 1.5apg.
Williams is a highly experienced player, having played in eleven different countries on three different continents - Europe, Asia, and North America. He has played professionally in Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Philippines, Turkey, United Kingdom, NBA, NBA G League, and NBA Summer League.
In addition to these achievements, he won the Best Import award during the 2024 PBA Commissioner's Cup. His team reached the Kuwait League Semifinals in 2025.
Williams graduated from Gonzaga University in 2018 and enters his ninth season as a professional player. He also played for the University of Missouri and the University of Memphis.
