Round 8: Kangoeroes beat Chomutov

There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Central Europe Women League. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

Second ranked Belgian Kangoeroes faced 3rd ranked Czech Chomutov. Host Kangoeroes (5-1) defeated guests from Chomutov (4-3) 70-58. The best player for the winners was American Jessica Lindstrom (185-96, college: Green Bay, agency: LBM Management) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists. Latvian Ance Aizsila (178-94, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds. Kangoeroes' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Monika Satoranska (188-93) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Kangoeroes have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Zabiny Brno. Newly promoted Chomutov keeps the third place with three games lost. Kangoeroes is looking forward to face UBI Graz (#5) on the road in the next round. Chomutov will play against Slovanka MB and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Piestany. First ranked Slovakian Piestanske C. faced 4th ranked Austrian UBI Graz. Host Piestanske C. (6-1) smashed guests from Graz (0-5) 74-27. Forward Katarina Tetemondova (188-88) orchestrated the victory by scoring 12 points and 6 rebounds. Matea Tadic contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Piestanske C.'s coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Camilla Neumann (182-94) replied with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for UBI Graz. Piestanske C. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-1 record. Defending Austrian champion UBI Graz still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Slovanka MB. Piestanske C. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UBI Graz will play at home against the league's second-placed Kangoeroes (#2) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
