Division B1 Round 20 (Regular Season): Agiou Nikolaou lose to Ethniki

There will be only one (last) round of the Regular Season in Division B1. Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most important game in the last round took place in between third ranked Agiou Nikolaou (11-6) and ninth ranked Ethniki (8-9) on Wednesday night. Agiou Nikolaou was defeated by Ethniki in a tough game on the road 76-81. Ethniki moved-up to seventh place. Agiou Nikolaou at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Ethniki are looking forward to face higher ranked Atlantas (#6) in Paphos in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Agiou Nikolaou will play at home against APOP and is hoping to win this game.
Division B1 top team - Digenis AM (17-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Asteras (8-10) in Morfou 76-50. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Asteras. Digenis AM have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-1 record. Newly promoted Asteras dropped to the eighth place with ten games lost. Digenis AM will play against Youth Stars (#10) in Nicosia in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Asteras will play at home against ENAD and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Nicosia supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th ranked Atlantas (9-8) played at the court of fifth ranked PAEEK (10-8). PAEEK smashed Atlantas 79-53 on Sunday. PAEEK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ENAD. Atlantas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. PAEEK's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nicosia to the arena Ol.Aglantzias.

In the last two games of round 20 Youth Stars was smashed by Phoenix MJ on the road 73-46. ENAD won against Ol.Aglantzias on its own court 70-63.



Ethniki - Agiou Nikolaou 81-76

Youth Stars lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 14 games lost. Phoenix MJ will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Youth Stars will play against the league's leader Digenis AM (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Digenis AM - Asteras 76-50

Division B1 top team - Digenis AM (17-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Asteras (8-10) in Morfou 76-50. Very expected game when 11th ranked Ol.Aglantzias (1-15) lost to sixth ranked ENAD (10-8) in Nicosia 63-70 on Sunday. ENAD have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with PAEEK. Ol.Aglantzias lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. ENAD will meet Asteras (#8) in the next round. Ol.Aglantzias' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nicosia PAEEK.

PAEEK - Atlantas P. 79-53

The game in Nicosia supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th ranked Atlantas (9-8) played at the court of fifth ranked PAEEK (10-8). PAEEK smashed Atlantas 79-53 on Sunday. PAEEK moved-up to fourth place, which they share with ENAD. Atlantas lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost.
