Chloe Welch claims Danish Dameligaen weekly honour

American Chloe Welch (175-G) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Skovbakken Bears and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The guard had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat Horsholm (#6, 1-6) 78-65. Skovbakken maintains the 2nd position in Danish Dameligaen. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Skovbakken will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Welch had a remarkable 56.3% from 2-point range. She turned to be Skovbakken's top player in her first season with the team. Saint Joseph's University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Welch is league's best scorer averaging so far 25.3ppg. Welch is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 9.2rpg), assists (2nd best: 4.0apg) and averages solid 1.5bpg,3.5spg and 53.9% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young shooting guard Mille Sorensen (183-SG-2010) of league's best team Aabyhoj IF. Sorensen impressed basketball fans with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Bad luck as Aabyhoj lost that game 74-79 to slightly lower-ranked Herlev (#3, 5-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Aabyhoj still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. It was just her team's 1st loss this season, while they won 6 other games. Sorensen is well-known by Aabyhoj fans and she already established her position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Skovbakken's star - international Emilie Hesseldal (185-C/F-1990). Hesseldal showcased her all-around game by recording 12 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 6 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Skovbakken Bears, helping her team with a 78-65 easy win against the lower-ranked Horsholm (#6, 1-6). Hesseldal has a great season in Denmark. After only 7 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.3ppg (8th best), rebounds with 14.9rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 5.4apg (best passer). She also has 5.7spg and a FGP of 52.2%.
