Pipeloluwa Ajayi claims Danish BasketLigaen weekly honour

Nigerian-Canadian Pipeloluwa Ajayi (201-F-2003) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's leader Team FOG Naestved and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 23-year old forward had a double-double of 20 points and 15 rebounds, while his team outclassed Bears Academy (#11, 1-7) with 33-point margin 113-80. It allowed Naestved to consolidate first place in the Danish BasketLigaen. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is already in a full swing and Naestved still have not lost a single game, getting all 8 victories. It's Ajayi's second year at Naestved and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Pipeloluwa Ajayi averages this season 12.1ppg and 6.0rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another Naestved's star - young American guard Jordan Goldwire (188-G-1999). Goldwire impressed basketball fans with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course together with Ajayi he helped Team FOG Naestved with another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Bears Academy (#11, 1-7) 113-80. Of course Naestved still keep the league's top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Naestved managed to win all 8 games keeping a perfect record. Goldwire is a newcomer at Naestved and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Silas Braikia (180-PG-2007) of BMS Herlev (#12). Braikia showcased his all-around game by recording 26 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Braikia's great performance the Herlev lost 99-107 to the higher-ranked Vaerlose (#9, 2-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Herlev can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-7 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Braikia has individually a great season in Denmark. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.0apg (7th best).
