Galatasaray - Lyon 57-85

Lyon clinched their first Eurocup title. They stormed past Galatasaray in Istanbul to conquer the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Lyon. Galatasaray managed to win fourth quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Galatasaray 40-27 including a 35-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Lyon looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Marine Johannes (174-1995) who scored 20 points and 6 assists. Center Sandrine Gruda (193-1987) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Lyon players scored in double figures. American center Teaira McCowan (201-1996, college: MSU) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and Meltem Yildizhan (186-1999) added 6 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
