Vilniaus Kibirkstis-MRU lands Martyna Petrenaite

Vilniaus Kibirkstis-MRU (Moteru Lyga) landed 25-year old 181cm forward Martyna Petrenaite for new season. Petrenaite has played for the last four years at Aistes-LSMU Kaunas in the Moteru Lyga. In 6 games she averaged 10.3ppg, 4.5rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg last season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. Petrenaite also played 21 games in WBBL where she had 13.5ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.4apg and 1.0spg. She can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Eurobasket.com All-WBBL Honorable Mention.
Petrenaite represented Lithuania at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 Division B in Oradea (Romania) five years ago. Petrenaite's team won Bronze and her stats at that event were 7 games: 9.6ppg, 4.7rpg, 1.3apg, FGP-2 (69.0%), 3PT: 18.2%, FT: 70.0%.
She is a very experienced player. Petrenaite has played also professionally in Germany (TSV 1880 and Freiburg), United Kingdom (Sheffield Lady Bulldogs), Lithuania (Utena, Jaunieji Talentai, Vilkmerge and Birzu SM-Birzu Duona) and Serbia (IBC Beograd). Her team won Lithuanian Cup in 2015 and 2020.
Among many awards she received Eurobasket.com All-Lithuanian LMKL Most Improved Player of the Year award back in 2017.
