Jessica Shepard gets MVP of the Week award for EuroCup (by Hoops Agents)- November 2, 2023
The 27-year old forward had a double-double of 40 points and ten rebounds, while her team outclassed, the league's bottom-ranked team Ragusa (#4, 0-4) with 79-point margin 113-34. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Venezia to consolidate first place in the EuroCup. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Venezia already had a very good start winning all 4 without losing a single one. Shepard turned to be Venezia's top player in her first season with the team. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Jacinta Monroe (196-F/C-1988) of second-ranked Atomeromu. Monroe impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 34 points and 15 rebounds. It was enough for Atomeromu to edge Chomutov (#4, 0-4) by 6 points 95-89. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Atomeromu consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 2-2 record is not bad at all. Monroe is a newcomer at Atomeromu and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.3ppg (#7). She also registered 8.0 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was Australian Chloe Bibby (185-F-1998) of second-ranked Gorzow Wlkp.. Bibby got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. She went also for eight rebounds and five assists. She was a key player of Gorzow Wlkp., leading her team to a 83-81 win against #3 ranked Piestanske C.. Gorzow Wlkp. needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Bibby has a great season in EuroCup. After only 4 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.5ppg (3rd best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Rennia Davis (188-G-1999) of Gdynia - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists 5. Temi Fagbenle (193-F-1992) of Lions - 26 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists 6. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
