Maria Fasoula (ex Avenida) agreed terms with Besiktas

Besiktas JK Istanbul (KBSL) signed 27-year-old Greek international Maria Fasoula, a 196cm center from Vanderbilt, for the upcoming season. Fasoula, who played for Avenida in Spanish LF Endesa for the last four years, averaged 8.5ppg and 3.5rpg in 28 games last season. She contributed to their cup final and league semifinals appearances. In Euroleague, she played 12 games with averages of 10.8ppg and 3.6rpg.
She has also been a member of the Greek international program for some years. Fasoula has regularly played for the Greek senior team since 2014 and previously for the U20 National Team back in 2017.
She also represented Greece at the World Championship (FIBA World Cup) in Tenerife (Spain) seven years ago. During this event she scored an average of 9.5 ppg and had 5.5 rpg.
Fasoula has also played professionally in Al-Qazeres.
Among many awards, she played in the final of the Spanish League in 2023. She was also voted to Eurobasket.com All-Europeans Power Forward of the Year in 2023.
Fasoula graduated from Vanderbilt University in 2020 and it'll be her sixth season in pro basketball. She played also for Boston College for 2 years.
