Elliott's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

American Center Elizabeth Elliott (185-C) had a very impressive game in the last round for Beroe Stara Zagora and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 38 points and 13 rebounds, while her team was edged out by Fribourg (#3, 3-2) 78-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Beroe maintains the 4th position in EuroCup . They are still not able to win a single game in the league yet. Too late to improve their position as they are currently ranked such low. They already lost 5 games and recorded no victories. In the team's last game Elliott had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. She turned to be Beroe's top player in her first season with the team. Elizabeth Elliott averages this season 13.0ppg and 6.0rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Ioanna Chatzileonti (190-F-2002) of league's second-best Panathinaikos Athens. She is a forward in her 2nd season at Panathinaikos. In the last game Chatzileonti recorded an impressive double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Panathinaikos cruised to a 94-87 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Neptunas (#3, 2-3). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Panathinaikos consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 3-2 record is not bad at all. Chatzileonti is well-known at Panathinaikos and she already established her position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Beatrix Meresz (185-G/F-1999) of ASC Sepsi SIC Sfantu Gheorghe (#4). Meresz showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Sf.Gheorghe, leading her team to a 86-82 win against #3 ranked Szekszard. Sf.Gheorghe can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-4 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Meresz has a very solid season. In 5 games in EuroCup she scored 12.8ppg.
