After 5 rounds played we can already see who rules in the Korisliiga and who belongs to weaker ones. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most surprising game was the first loss of Marsky Helsinki (3-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Torpan Pojat (3-2) 83-69. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Marsky Helsinki. ToPo forced 24 HBA-Marsky turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Guard Ebba Hamalainen (172) stepped up and scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and forward Annika Aarrejoki (180-2004) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Center Aluel Machol (191-2008) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Marsky Helsinki's coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. ToPo moved-up to fourth place, which they share with PeKa. HBA-Marsky at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with EBT. ToPo is looking forward to face BC Nokia (#7) at home in the next round. HBA-Marsky will play against Honka (#8) in Espoo and is hoping to win this game.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Espoo: Espoo Team (#4) and Tapiolan Honka (#8). Espoo Team (3-1) crushed visiting Tapiolan Honka (1-4) by 46 points 110-64. Point guard Emili Melnikova (171-2008) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and Kiia Mantyla accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Saga Ukkonen (174-2001, college: Fresno St.) came up with 10 points for Honka in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Espoo Team have a solid series of three victories in a row. EBT moved-up to second place, which they share with HBA-Marsky. Honka at the other side keeps the eighth position with four games lost. EBT will play against Pyrinto (#6) in Tampere in the next round. Honka will play at home against the league's second-placed HBA-Marsky to get more than just one victory in their record.
Bottom-ranked Vimpelin Veto (0-5) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to leader Kouvottaret (4-0) 78-72 on Saturday evening. The best player for the winners was Kelly Moten who scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Silja Viita produced 22 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Kouvottaret have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Loser Vimpelin Veto still closes the standings with five games lost. Kouvot will meet at home PeKa (#5) in the next round. ViVe will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 5 Pyrinto lost to PeKa on the opponent's court 67-80.
