Annika Aarrejoki claims Finnish Korisliiga weekly honour

Talented Annika Aarrejoki (180-F-2004) had an amazing evening in the last round for Torpan Pojat Helsinki and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 22-year old forward had a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds, while her team outclassed BC Nokia (#7, 1-4) with 50-point margin 98-48. Torpan Pojat maintains the 4th position in Finnish Korisliiga. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. ToPo will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. In the team's last game Aarrejoki had a remarkable 58.8% from 2-point range. She turned to be Torpan Pojat's top player in her first season with the team. Aarrejoki has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.2ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.2rpg) and averages solid 2.5spg and 56.8% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Kelly Moten (173-G-1993) of league's best team Kouvottaret. Moten impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 31 points and 10 rebounds. It was enough for Kouvottaret to edge the lower-ranked PeKa (#5, 3-3) by 4 points 86-82. Of course Kouvot still keep the league's top spot. A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 5 games without any defeat. Moten is a newcomer at Kouvot and it seems she did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 24.2ppg (#1). Her other stats are also decent: 11.4rpg and 5.8apg.

The third best performed player last round was Duaa Aden (197-C) of second-ranked HBA-Marsky Helsinki. Aden got into 30-points club by scoring 32 points in the last round. She went also for ten rebounds . She was a key player of Marsky Helsinki, leading her team to a 93-72 easy win against the lower-ranked Honka (#8, 1-5). HBA-Marsky is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Aden has a very solid season. In 5 games in Finland she scored 14.4ppg.

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
