Alexander Winck (195-2000) notched 15 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Nils Strubich (196-1998) supported him with 18 points and 4 steals. Five Wulfen players scored in double figures. Wulfen's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Zachary Hinton (201-1994, college: Rocky Mountain) did not help to save the game for Recklinghausen. Center Henning Gustrau (199-2005) added 8 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Wulfen will meet Hagen-Haspe on the road in the next round. Recklinghausen will play against Leverkusen 2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
