Carey's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

31-year old American forward Stasha Carey (188-F-1995) had an amazing evening in the last round for Elitzur Holon and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
She had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while her team crushed H.Petah Tikva (#8, 1-5) with 20-point margin 87-67. E.Holon maintains the 7th position in Israeli D1. E.Holon is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-4 record. Carey turned to be E.Holon's top player in her first season with the team. Rutgers University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Carey is in league's top in points (8th best: 17.7ppg) and averages solid 2.7spg and 66.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Azana Baines (185-G/F-2001) of Maccabi Karmiel. She is American swingman in her first season at M.Karmiel. In the last game Baines recorded an impressive 31 points and 9 rebounds. Bad luck as M.Karmiel lost that game 57-65 to the higher-ranked M.Ramat Gan (#6, 3-3). M.Karmiel are still at the very bottom. 6 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Baines is a newcomer at M.Karmiel and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.2ppg (#2). She also registered 10.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Ariel Hearn (171-PG-1994) of Maccabi Haifa (#9). Hearn showcased her all-around game by recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the last round. Despite Hearn's great performance the M.Haifa lost 82-86 to the higher-ranked Bnei Yehuda (#5, 3-3). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. M.Haifa can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 1-5 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Hearn has individually a great season in Israel. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.5ppg (4th best).
