Verners Kohs (ex Czarni) joins Valmiera Glass

Verners Kohs

Valmiera Glass/Vidzemes Augstskola (LBL) agreed terms with 27-year old Latvian small forward Verners Kohs (203cm-94kg-1997) for new 2024-25 season. He played last season at Czarni in Polish OBL league. In 30 games he had 9.4ppg and 2.8rpg.
The previous (2022-23) season he played at Heroes Den Bosch (DBL) in Dutch league. The team played in four different competitions (!!!) that year, and he was exposed to basketball on different levels. He also played 4 games in Dutch DBL where he recorded 4.5ppg and 3.8rpg in that year. His team won the Supercup and made to league semifinals. Kohs also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 9.8ppg, 3.2rpg and 1.2apg in that year. And finally he played 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 11.0ppg and 1.0rpg in that year.
He represented Latvia at the European Championships (FIBA EuroBasket) U20 in Crete (Greece) seven years ago. During this event he scored an average of 11 points per game and had 3 rebounds per game.
Kohs is quite experienced player. He has played also in Belgium (Oostende), Holland, Italy (Piacenza and Cremona), Poland, Spain (Ourense, Monbus Obradoiro, Zaragoza and El Olivar), Czech Republic (GBA Sparta) and Latvia (Ventspils, Liepaja, Spars/Ventspils, VEF Riga and Jekabpils).
