LAT-EST BL round 10 best performance: Kahliel Spear

American Power forward Kahliel Spear (200-PF-2000) had a very impressive game in the last round for Valmiera Glass/Vidzemes Augstskola, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 38 points and 14 rebounds, while his team in a lost game to BK Ogre (#7, 6-5) 88-92. Valmiera Glass moved-up to the 3rd position in LAT-EST BL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Valmiera Glass will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 8-4 record. In the team's last game Spear had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Valmiera Glass' top player in his first season with the team. Former Robert Morris University star has very solid stats this year. Spear is in league's top in points (4th best: 18.6ppg), rebounds (3rd best: 10.0rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 55.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Rihards Aleksandrovs (201-PF-2002) of Latvijas Universitate. Aleksandrovs had a very good evening with a double-double of 25 points and 15 rebounds. Bad luck as LU was edged by the higher-ranked Ventspils (#11, 4-6) 89-87. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. LU is still at the dead bottom 15th position. 10 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Aleksandrovs is well-known at LU and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#9). He also registered 8.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American forward Jalyn McCreary (203-F-2000) of AVIS UTILITAS Rapla (#9). McCreary got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for seven rebounds . Despite McCreary's great performance the Rapla lost 75-87 to the higher-ranked Kalev/Cramo (#4, 6-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Rapla ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 5 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, McCreary could help Rapla to bring them higher in the standings. McCreary has a great season in LAT-EST BL. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.6ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 7.8rpg (7th best).
