Best players of Lithuanian NKL round 9

Talented Egyptian Amir Malek (205-C-2007) had a great game in the last round for Omega-Tauras Kauno and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents NKL Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 19-year old center had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while his team crushed Stekas (#14, 3-6) with 21-point margin 97-76. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Omega-Tauras maintains the 12th position in Lithuanian NKL. Omega-Tauras is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. It was one of impressive evenings for Malek as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Amir Malek averages this season 9.4ppg and 7.6rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Justinas Jogminas (197-F-1997) of Suduva-Mantinga Marijampole. Jogminas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds. Of course he led Suduva-Mantinga to another comfortable win outscoring Atletas (#17, 0-9) 113-63. This victory allowed Suduva-Mantinga to move up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 6-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Jogminas is a newcomer at Suduva-Mantinga and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.4ppg (#9). He also registered 9.6 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was another Kedainiai's star - Vainius Steponavicius (186-PG-1998). Steponavicius got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. He went also for six assists. He was another key player of Kedainiai Sporto Centras, helping his team with a 97-76 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Stekas (#14, 3-6). The chances of Kedainiai ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Steponavicius could help Kedainiai to bring them higher in the standings. Steponavicius has a very solid season. In 8 games in Lithuania he scored 13.3ppg. He also has 3.4apg and a FGP of 52.8%.
