Kernius Cekanauskas' triple-double lands him Player of the Week award

Kernius Cekanauskas (185-G) had a very impressive game in the last round for Siauliu KA Saule-SG-ASKA U18 team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The guard recorded a triple-double of 19 points adding also 15 rebounds and 12 assists, while his team outclassed NKA-Perlas (#11, 1-4) with 48-point margin 114-66. Saule is placed at 4th position in Lithuanian U18 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Saule will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team's last game Cekanauskas had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Saule's top player in his first season with the team. Cekanauskas has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 6.0rpg), assists (8th best: 2.0apg) and averages solid 3.0spg and 66.7% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Joris Makarevicius (2009) of Kauno KA Snaiperis U18 team. Makarevicius impressed basketball fans with a triple-double of 25 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. Of course Snaiperis cruised to a 90-80 relatively comfortable win over the higher-ranked VKM (#3, 4-1). This victory allowed Snaiperis to move up to 8th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 2-3 record. Makarevicius is a newcomer at Snaiperis and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was Titas Okmanas (182-G-2009) of Prienu SC U18 team (#10). Okmanas showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists (!!!) in the last round. He was a key player of Prienu, leading his team to a 97-93 overtime win against VKM-2 (#12, 0-5). The chances of Prienu ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Okmanas could help Prienu to bring them higher in the standings. The season just started for Okmanas as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
