Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The game between second ranked Imortal (10-3) and seventh ranked GDESSA (6-6) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Imortal was defeated by GDESSA in a tough game in Barreiro 72-76. GDESSA made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Imortal turnovers. The former international guard Marcia Costa (173-1989) fired 37 points (!!!) for the winners. chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Micaela Kelly (168-1998, college: CMU) produced 16 points and 6 assists for lost side. GDESSA have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to sixth place. Imortal at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. GDESSA are looking forward to face higher ranked Barcelos (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Imortal will play against Sporting in Lisbon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Undefeated leader Q.Lombos delivered the thirteenth consecutive victory. This time they beat 6th ranked Esgueira (6-7) 83-72 in Carcavelos. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Esgueira. Worth to mention a great performance of Mozambican forward Chanaya Pinto (185-2000, college: Penn State) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 assists. Milica Ivanovic contributed with 19 points for the winners. Q.Lombos' coach Jose Leite allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international guard Marcia Costa (173-1989) answered with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for Esgueira. Undefeated Q.Lombos (13-0) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with a perfect record of 13 victories in a row. Esgueira at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Sportiva. Q.Lombos will play against league's second-placed Benfica in Lisbon in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Esgueira will play at home against CAB Madeira (#11) and hopes to get back on the winning track.

Kimberly Villalobos stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners. At the losing side Luisa Nufer responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds. Barcelos maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Galitos lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Sanjoanense. Barcelos will meet at home GDESSA (#6) in the next round. Galitos will play against Coimbroes and hope to secure a win.

In the last two games of round 13 Benfica crushed Sanjoanense in Lisbon 101-59. Bottom-ranked Coimbroes were beaten by Sportiva at home 64-80.

Strangely Galitos outrebounded Barcelos 41-27 including 28 on the defensive glass. Kimberly Villalobos stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and Becca Wann-Taylor chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Barcelos players scored in double figures. At the losing side Mozambican forward Chanaya Pinto (185-2000, college: Penn State) responded with 21 points and 7 rebounds and Serbian swingman Milica Ivanovic (178-1988, college: Catawba) scored 27 points. Barcelos maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Galitos lost their seventh game in a row. They keep the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Sanjoanense. There was no surprise in Sao Joao where 10th ranked Sanjoanense (3-10) was crushed by third ranked Benfica (11-2) 101-59 on Sunday. Benfica looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Sanjoanense's players. Polish forward Zuzanna Puc (188-1997, college: Utah) stepped up and scored 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Ines Faustino chipped in 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Benfica players scored in double figures. At the losing side responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Schekinah Bimpa (180-1998, college: Limestone) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Benfica. Defending champion moved-up to second place. Sanjoanense lost their seventh game in a row. Newly promoted team dropped to the ninth position with ten games lost. They share it with Galitos. Benfica will meet at home league's leader Q.Lombos in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. American-Brazilian guard Bella Nascimento (173-2002, college: William & Mary) stepped up and scored 24 points and 4 assists for the winners and the former international guard Carolina Goncalves (175-1997, college: Regina, agency: Promo Sport ID) chipped in 17 points and 4 assists. Nascimento is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Sportiva players scored in double figures. At the losing side Polish forward Zuzanna Puc (188-1997, college: Utah) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her eight free throws) and scored 14 points and 5 rebounds.
