Yakin Dogu BGD celebrated KBSL title. They nipped Fenerbahce in a dramatic fifth game of the title series to be crowned champions. Fenerbahce was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Yakin Dogu BGD especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American-Hungarian point guard Courtney Vandersloot (173-89, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 6 rebounds and 14 assists. The former international center Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-88, college: VCU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Candace Parker (193-86, college: Tennessee) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Yakin Dogu Universitesi celebrate Cup title in Izmir. They overcame Abdullah Gul Universitesi 77-61 to grab the first trophy of year 2017. Yakin Dogu Universitesi trailed 2 points at the end of the first period, but posted a 28-17 surge in the second frame. Moreover they allowed the opponents to score only 12 points in the third and then also 12 points in the last quarter to win the game. Kayla McBride (180-G-92, college: Notre Dame) stepped up with 27 points and Quanitra Hollingsworth (196-C-88, college: VCU) added 24. Chelsea Gray (180-G-92, college: Duke) and Ann Wauters (194-C-80, agency: Josep and Nicolas) replied with 15 pints in the losing effort, whilst Wright poured in 14. Quanitra Hollingsworth was named MVP of the tournament.

Hatay clinched SuperCup title surprising Fenerbahce 60-55 at the start of the 2016/17 season. Hatay grabbed a 10-8 lead at the end of the first period and led 1 point at the halftime. They added a massive 18-11 surge in the third quarter and entered the last stanza with an 8-point deficit. Fenerbahce managed to win the last period 21-18, but could not win the game. Katerina Snytsina (188-F-85) stepped up with 24 points to pace the winners. Natalie Hurst (164-PG-83) netted 13, whilst Bahar Ozturk (183-G/F-84, college: Connecticut, agency: 1x1 Sports) brought 11. Birsel Vardarli (175-PG-84) ended up with 15 points in the losing effort. Anastasiya Veremeenko (194-C-87) delivered 13 and Allie Quigley (178-G-86, college: De Paul) scored 11.
