Shanxi Loongs (CBA) signed 31-year old French international power forward Petr Cornelie (211cm-100kg-1995) who was about to sign with Erokspor in the Turkish BSL league.
In 2016, he was drafted by the Denver Nuggets (NBA) in the second round (53rd overall).
He has also been a member of the French international program for some years. Cornelie has regularly played for the French senior team since 2021 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2015.
He also represented France at the FIBA World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers three years ago. His team won Silver and he averaged over 2 points per game.
Cornelie is a highly experienced player, having played in Italy, Spain (Real Madrid), France (Pau Lacq Orthez, Metropolitans, Le Mans, and Monaco), and the NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold).
He played in the final of Euroleague in 2025, among many awards. Cornelie was voted to Eurobasket.com French ProA All-Domestic Players Team back in 2021.
