Galatasaray have parted ways with head coach Gianmarco Pozzecco (agency: SLN ), according to Eurohoops sources, with an official announcement expected shortly. The decision follows a 93-88 home loss to Bursaspor in the Turkish league, Galatasaray's third consecutive defeat and the one the report identifies as the immediate trigger. The run also included a 96-76 loss to Cibona in the Basketball Champions League and a 78-71 loss after overtime in a league game against Karsiyaka.
The dismissal comes only four months after Pozzecco told supporters in a message on the club's website that he would stay in charge of the men's team for the new season, calling every day coaching Galatasaray a great honour. The report gives no club statement, contract details, replacement or interim coach, and none of the people involved is quoted.
