Omer Sik gets MVP of the Week award for Turkish U19 League

Talented Omer Sik (190-G-2009) put on an amazing game in the last round for Fenerbahce Koleji Istanbul team and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The 17-year old guard had the game-high 42 points adding four rebounds and six assists for Fenerbahce as his team lost the game against the league's best team Aliaga Petkim (#1, 3-0) 85-93. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Fenerbahce 2 is placed at 4th position in Turkish U19 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Fenerbahce 2 will need to avoid more loses keep or improve their 2-1 record. In the team's last game Sik had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Fenerbahce 2's top player in his first season with the team. Sik has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 29.3ppg. Sik is in league's top in assists (6th best: 5.0apg) and averages solid 1.3bpg,3.0spg,54.3% FGP and 42.3% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young point guard Mehmet Ozturk (189-PG-2010) of league's best team Aliaga Petkim Spor U19 team. Ozturk impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 12 rebounds. Of course Petkim Spor cruised to a 93-85 relatively comfortable win over Fenerbahce (2-1). A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Ozturk is one of the most experienced players at Aliaga Petkim and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 21.7ppg (#9). His other stats are also decent: 5.3rpg and 5.0apg.

The third best performed player last round was Kerem Corumlular (195-F-2008) of Tofas Bursa U19 team (#11). Corumlular got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. Despite Corumlular's great performance the Tofas lost 78-88 to Anadolu Efes (#5, 2-1). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Tofas not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 2 games, recording just one victory. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Corumlular could try to bring Tofas' a little bit higher in the standings. Corumlular has individually a great season in Turkey. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.0ppg (3rd best).
