CBK Mersin (KBSL) has signed 34-year-old American guard Yvonne Anderson for the upcoming 2024-25 season. Anderson, who also holds a USA-Serbian passport, played for Fenerbahce in the KBSL last season. She averaged 11.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 6.0apg, and 2.4spg in 23 games, helping her team win the KBSL title and the cup. In Euroleague, she averaged 9.3ppg, 3.7rpg, 4.8apg, and 1.4spg in 18 games, contributing to the team's championship win. Anderson was named Eurobasket.com All-Euroleague Defensive Player of the Year and made the All-Euroleague Second Team for the 2023-24 season. In the 2022-23 season, she played in the French league.
Anderson represented the USA at the FIBA World Cup for Women in Sydney (Australia) two years ago. Her team reached the Semifinals, and she averaged 15 ppg and was the top passer with over 6 apg.
She is a very experienced player. Anderson has played in eight different countries on three different continents (Europe, Australia, and North America). She has played professionally in Australia (Lady Cobras), France, Greece (Olympiacos), Italy (Venezia and Torino), Luxembourg (Amicale), Sweden (Visby), WNBA (Connecticut Sun and Chicago Sky), and Turkey (Besiktas, Mersin BSB, Galatasaray, and Kayseri).
Among many awards, she was selected Eurobasket.com All-Europeans Player of the Year in 2022.
Anderson graduated from the University of Texas in 2012 and it will be her 13th (hopefully lucky) season as a professional player.
