Regular Season Round 9: Paralimni - AEK Larnaca 70-76

OPAP Basket League top team -AEK Larnaca (8-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Paralimni (4-4) 76-70 . It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Paralimni. It looked good early as Paralimni took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then AEK Larnaca had a 23-11 second period charge getting the lead and Paralimni was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-76. American Amir Bell (193-1996, college: Princeton) nailed 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Australian forward Jesse Hunt (203-1997, college: EWU, agency: Worldwide SM) accounted for 16 points. AEK Larnaca's coach Christophoros Livadiotis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Serbian forward Dusan Mahorcic (208-1998, college: Duquesne) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds and American guard Tyrell Jones (188, college: USA) added 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Paralimni in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AEK Larnaca have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-0 record. Paralimni at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with APOEL.
