Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Limassol:AEL (#3) and Apollon (#7). Apollon was defeated at home 81-91 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It looked good early as Apollon took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then AEL had a 31-18 second period charge getting the lead and Apollon was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 81-91. They outrebounded Apollon 54-34 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. AEL players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward TJ Bickerstaff (206, college: JMU) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points, 19 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and forward Tyrn Bryan Flowers (206-1998, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: GSE Worldwide) supported him with 25 points and 17 rebounds. Even a double-double of 24 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists by guard Jonathan Cisse (185-2001, college: Texas Southern, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Apollon . Center Seth Pinkney (216-2000, college: FIU) added 15 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. Four Apollon players scored in double figures. AEL have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 11-5 record having five points less than leader AEK Larnaca. Apollon lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with 11 games lost.
