Very expected game when 7th rankedApollon (7-16) lost to second ranked Keravnos (19-4) in Nicosia 81-96 . The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Apollon was better in second period 24-23 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Keravnos players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Apollon 's players. The former international point guard Filippos Tigkas (184-2002) scored 14 points and 9 assists to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Greek Pano Pavlidis (203-2000, college: Stonehill) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Five Keravnos players scored in double figures. Keravnos' coach Michalis Kakiouzis allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Markedric Bell (203-1999, college: PVAMU) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 18 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Nick Honor (178-2000, college: Missouri) scored 28 points. Keravnos have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 19-4 record having just three points less than leader AEK Larnaca. Apollon at the other side keeps the seventh place with 16 games lost.
