Leader AEL delivered the tenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked APOP (1-9) 85-50 in Limassol. AEL dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to APOP's 32. AEL players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists comparing to just 3 passes made by APOP's players. American guard Dontavia Waggoner (183-2001, college: Boston Coll.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 13 rebounds. Eleni Oikonomidou contributed with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Waggoner is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. AEL's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center DaJah Daniel (193-1998, college: GCU) answered with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import guard Makayla Andrews (178, college: GWU) added 27 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for APOP. AEL (10-1) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. APOP at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. AEL's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Limassol to the arena Anagennises.
