Not a big story in a game when PortugueseSportiva was outplayed on the road by Spanish Gernika 82-61 on Wednesday. Gernika outrebounded Sportiva 41-21 including 27 on the defensive glass. Gernika looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Serbian power forward Masa Jankovic (187-2000) stepped up and scored 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and Dutch forward Laura Westerik (176-1998) chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Gernika players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Brazilian guard Bella Nascimento (173-2002, college: William & Mary) responded with 19 points and Czech guard Michaela Gaislerova (180-1997, college: NDSU) scored 14 points.
