Athinaikos made 16-of-18 charity shots (88.9 percent) during the game. It was a great shooting night for Athinaikos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. British guard Holly Winterburn (178-2000, college: Oregon) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. American swingman Alexis Prince (188-1994, college: Baylor) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Athinaikos players scored in double figures. point guard Iyana Martin (172-2006) replied with 13 points and American-Israeli guard Abby Meyers (183-1999, college: Maryland) added 14 points in the effort for Avenida. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
