Regular Season Round 4: Miskolc - Valosun Brno 83-58

Rather expected game when 3rd ranked Czech Valosun Brno (1-3) was smashed on the road by top-ranked Hungarian Miskolc (4-0) 83-58 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Miskolc. Valosun Brno was better in fourth quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Miskolc dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Valosun Brno's 32. Miskolc forced 29 Valosun Brno turnovers. Quite impressive performance for American power forward Alyssia Brewer (190-90, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Belarusian swingman Tatsiana Likhtarovich (180-88) contributed with 11 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Miskolc players scored in double figures. Swingman Eva Mrhalkova (175-88) replied with 17 points and 6 rebounds and guard Katerina Sedlakova (176-90) added 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Valosun Brno. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Miskolc have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group G with 4-0 record. Loser Valosun Brno keeps the third place with three games lost. Miskolc will face Blizzards (#4) in the next round. Valosun Brno will play against the league's second-placed Napoli and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
