Regular Season Round 10: Valencia - Spirou 97-76

Date: December 16, 2015
Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Belgian Spirou Charleroi (3-7) was rolled over on the road by top-ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (10-0) 97-76 on Wednesday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Valencia Basket shot 24 for 36 from the free-throw line, while Spirou Charleroi only scored six points from the stripe. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Spirou Charleroi was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Montenegrin Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) scored 20 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Rafael Martinez (190-82) chipped in 14 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American point guard Billy Baron (188-90, college: Canisius) responded with 14 points and 4 assists and Maxime Gaudoux (200-90) scored 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Spirou Charleroi players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Valencia Basket went down to thirteenth position (Group C) due to points difference. Loser Spirou Charleroi dropped to the seventeenth place with seven games lost.
