Top 16 Round 3: Galatasaray - Valencia 78-82

Valencia celebrated an important road win against Galatasaray in EuroCup Last 16. Nando De Colo scored 17 points helping the Spanish team to the second win in Group J. Galatasaray suffered the third consecutive loss and remained at the bottom of the standings. Victor Claver drained two trebles early on to give Valencia a perfect start. The visitors soon went on a 16:0 run and earned a 26:10 lead at the first break. The Spaniards controlled the game in the second frame. Valencia extended the margin to 20 points and finished the first half up by 21 points 46:25. Matt Nielsen and Lishchuk teamed up for six points at the start of the third quarter as Valencia started to cruise. But Galatasaray refused to bow. Michael J Wilkinson, Rancik and Evren Buker trimmed the margin to just 12 points. Galatasaray continued their heroic comeback effort as they cut the distance to only 10 points. However Rafael Martinez and Matt Nielsen stepped up just in the right time to cool off the hosts. Rancik and Michael J Wilkinson did not finish just yet as they pulled the Turkish team within 6 late in regulation. Nando De Colo hit a free throw and Valencia ran away with a tough road win. Matt Nielsen delivered 14 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for Valencia. Kosta Perovic had 11 points in the victory. Evren Buker responded with game-high 25 points for Galatasaray. Michael J Wilkinson delivered 22 points and 8 caroms in the loss.
