Aris registered the second win in the EuroCup Last 16 round. They toppled visiting ALBA to catch up with their opponents in Group I. Andrew Betts scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the effort from the Greek team. Aris quickly gained control over the tempo and surged ahead. The Hellenes maintained the advantage throughout the opening frame and posted a 20:17 lead at the first break. ALBA however changed the course of the encounter in the second frame. Led by Julius Jenkins the German team pulled ahead. The visitors secured a 38:36 advantage at the main break. Aris stressed defence in the second part of the clash. They played more aggressively and limited ALBA to 11 points in the third stanza. It helped the hosts to accumulate a 52:49 lead with ten minutes to go. Aris stepped on the gas in the fourth stanza firing 28 points and leaving their opponents far behind. Mihalis Kakiouzis tallied 18 points and 8 rebounds for Aris. Jeremy Richardson finished with 17 points in the win. Jurica Golemac and Julius Jenkins answered with 11 points each for ALBA. Sekulic netted 10 points in the loss. Aris will next host Joventut, while ALBA will play against Le Mans in Berlin.
