The Czech champions Nymburk recorded the second win at the EuroCup Last 16. They held off Gran Canaria in overtime to boost their chances of reaching the tournaments quarterfinal. Nymburk and Gran Canaria are now tied at 2-2 record in Pool L. The visitors got to the better start to the game. Gran Canaria fired 24 points worth a 7-point lead at the first break. But Nymburk rebounded pretty quickly. The second frame fully belonged to the hosts. They limited Gran Canaria to ten points pouring 24 themselves. The scoreboard read 41:34 at halftime. The roller coaster action continued in the third period. Gran Canaria regained the initiative and started to work their way back into the contest. The visitors denied the deficit and entered the fourth term tied with Nymburk at 55. The teams exchanged baskets throughout tense dramatic fourth period but neither side was able to put their noses in front. Gran Canaria and Nymburk went for extra five minutes. The Spaniards scored just two points in overtime and had to surrender at the end. Arthur Lee tossed in 19 points to lead the hosts. Ladislav Sokolovsky added 17 points in the victory. Jaycee Carroll replied with 21 points and 5 boards for Gran Canaria. Sitapha Savane had 15 points and 8 caroms in the losing effort.
