Top 16 Round 4: Crvena Zvezda - Turk Telekom 76-78

Turk Telekom celebrated a vital road win in the EuroCup Last 16. They shocked Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade to stay alive in the race for the quarterfinal birth. Crvena Zvezda in the meantime suffered the initial loss at this stage of the tournament. Turk Telekom used an 11:0 run midway through the opening stanza to surge in front. The Turkish team posted a 26:13 advantage at the first break. But things changed drastically in the second frame. The hosts triggered a massive 24:3 run to build a 42:34 lead at the interval. Mike Taylor exploded with two three-pointers early in the third period to boost the gap to 12-point mark. The hosts maintained the pressure and the margin grew at 16 points. But Turk Telekom managed to narrow the deficit trailing by ten at the final break. Turk Telekom continued to get closer as Ersin Dagli, Lang and Senturk put the visitors within two points late in the regulation. Lamayne Wilson and Demond Mallet followed with 5 points to give the Turkish side a 78:75 lead. Taylor hit just one free throw but Crvena Zvezda lost rebound and game. Demond Mallet scored 25 points to pace the charge. Lamayne Wilson contributed 15 points and 8 rebounds in the win. Oliver Stevic accounted for 18 points and 8 rebounds for Crvena Zvezda. Mike Taylor and Filip Videnov netted 16 points each in defeat.
