Gran Canaria earned a valuable road win at the EuroCup Last 16 stage. They edged Turk Telekom in Ankara for the 3-2 record in Group L. Gran Canaria will qualify into the next round in the case of Crvena Zvezda win over Nymburk. Jaycee Carroll knocked down 22 points to pace the Spaniards. Gran Canaria dominated in the first half. The visitors bravely started the encounter and earned a 26:21 lead at the first break. The Spanish team maintained the advantage in the second stanza. Gran Canaria raced to a 13-point lead at the interval. But Turk Telekom changed things around in the third quarter. The hosts limited their opponents to just 12 points in the frame and cut the distance to only 3 points. Led by Lamayne Wilson Turk Telekom continued to erase the deficit. It all came down to the final seconds when Gran Canaria proved more accurate and survived the challenge. James Augustine scored 14 points and pulled down 12 boards for Gran Canaria. Marcus Norris netted 11 points in the winning effort. Lamayne Wilson replied with 25 points for Turk Telekom. Huseyin Besok notched 15 points and 10 caroms in defeat.
