Nymburk set up an exciting finale for the EuroCup Last 16 Group L action. The Czech champions clinched a vital road win to catch up with Crvena Zvezda at 3-2 record. Now three teams share the top position before the final round. Gran Canaria will host Crvena Zvezda, while Nymburk will take on Turk Telekom for two available spots in the next round on March 9. The teams kept it close throughout the opening frame. The lead changed hands for several times before Arthur Lee tied things up at 15 with ten minutes into the encounter. Ron Lewis opened the second stanza with five points in a row to put Nymburk in front. Crvena Zvezda went on a 6:0 run midway through the period to spur in charge. Petr Benda returned the advantage to Nymburk late in the half and the visitors sealed the outcome at 35:33. Oliver Stevic knotted things up early in the third period but Nymburk quickly restored the advantage and raced ahead. Arthur Lee and Petr Benda gave the visiting team a 16-point advantage late in the quarter. The hosts got within ten points but Ladislav Sokolovsky capped the stanza with a three-pointer to secure a 56:43 lead for Nymburk. Filip Videnov sparked the intrigue when he cut the margin at the start of the fourth period. However Michael Lenzly came up with timely five points and the Czech team ran away for good. Petr Benda nailed 18 points and collected 7 rebounds for Nymburk. Arthur Lee added 17 points and 6 assists in the win. Filip Videnov responded with 10 points for Crvena Zvezda as they suffered the second straight loss.
