Bizkaia Bilbao made a confident step towards EuroCup Final Four after they defeated Nymburk in the opening game of the quarterfinal clash. Jerome Moiso secured 11 points and 6 boards for Bilbao in the win. The teams will meet in Spain next Wednesday to decide on the winner. Nymburk quickly gained the lead in this one but Bilbao were ready for the challenge. Levour Warren and Rodriguez ensured a 13:9 lead for the Spanish team midway through the quarter. Ricci helped Nymburk restore the advantage as they entered the second quarter ahead by 3 points 18:15. Ron Lewis and Pavel Pumprla allowed the hosts to enjoy a 27:20 lead in the second period. The Czech champions maintained the advantage and posted a 32:22 advantage with twenty minutes gone. The hosts did not let Bilbao to get too close in the third frame. Pavel Pumprla established a 42:35 lead for the home team with ten minutes remaining. Bilbao quickly denied the deficit as they opened the fourth frame with 7 points in a row. Janis Blums followed with 7 points in a row to drag Bilbao in charge. The Spanish team took over from that moment and rallied to the victory at the end. Levour Warren and Marko Banic finished with 10 points each in the win. Janis Blums accounted for 9 points for the visitors. Ron Lewis responded with game-high 17 points for Nymburk. Pavel Pumprla notched 9 points in defeat.
