Valencia secured a comfortable lead heading into the second leg of EuroCup quarterfinal series against Aris. The Spanish powerhouse proved too strong for Aris claiming a road win tonight. Marko Marinovic scored 18 points to lead Valencia in this one. The teams traded baskets for some time early in the encounter. But Kelati and Nando De Colo hit triples to ensure a 21:13 lead at the first break. The hosts cut the margin early in the second frame but Lishchuk and Marko Marinovic restored a 7-point cushion for Valencia. However Aris stayed close and trailed by just three points at the interval 34:37. Matt Nielsen and Victor Claver ensured a quick start for the visitors in the second half. The margin grew at 8-point mark before Matt Walsh narrowed the deficit at 5 points with ten minutes to go. Marko Marinovic and Pietrus allowed Valencia to open a double-digit lead. Dimos Dikoudis triggered the intrigue with a pair of three-pointers but Valencia relied on Marko Marinovic as he came up with a try of his own. Nando De Colo and Rafael Martinez were accurate from the stripe in the dying seconds to seal the deal. Matt Nielsen provided 14 points for Valencia. Nando De Colo had 12 points in the win. Kiki Clark replied with 14 points for Aris. Dimos Dikoudis notched 12 points in the loss.
