Semi-Finals Game 8: SPAIN - SLOVENIA 77-46

Spain destroyed Slovenia to keep the perfect score and to reach the Big Final in Poprad. Elisabet Vivas (5 rebs) and Marta Claret had 14 points each in victory. Queralt Casas helped with 12 points and 7 boards. On the other side, Slovenia got 24 points from Nika Baric. Their second scorer was Tina Jakovina with 9 pts (6 rebs). Spain will meet Italy for the Gold. Spain did a great job in the second half of this game. Before that, Elisabet Vivas and her teammates made 16-14 in the first and 19-17 in the second frame. Slovenia was still in at that time, but their hopes were destroyed after the breather. Spain entered to third quarter with 16-5 run and later jumped to 60-41 with ten minutes left. Slovenia gave up after that and Spain created 17-5 in the last quarter for 77-48 victory and a spot in the Big Final. Slovenia still has a chance for the medal, but they will have to beat France in the battle for third place. The game is scheduled for Sunday at 18:45. Spain will meet Italy for the Gold and this game will start at 21h.
