Benetton Treviso posted the third consecutive EuroCup victory. They upset Estudiantes in Madrid to remain on top of Group F. Estudiantes in the meantime suffered the first loss and slipped at 1-2 record. Devin Smith led the charge with 22 points and 6 rebounds. The teams traded baskets early in the encounter but soon Benetton went on a rally. They scored eight unanswered points to ensure a 19:14 lead. The Italian side stayed in charge to pile up a 26:18 lead at the first intermission. The visitors quickly opened a double-digits lead early in the second period. German Gabriel and Sanchez allowed Esudiantes stayed in visibility as they knocked down a pair of jumpers. The hosts cut the distance to only 3 points at halftime 39:42. Estudiantes opened the second half on a 5:1 run to surge ahead. However Benetton answered straight back as they restored an 8-point buffer at the final intermission 60:52. Alessandro Gentile and Peric boosted Benetton lead to 13 points early in the final period. Nik Caner-Medley did not allow intrigue to die away as he dragged Estudiantes within four 65:69. Devin Smith and Alessandro Gentile came up with 7 quick points and Benetton cleared off for good in this one. Alessandro Gentile accounted for 10 points in the win. Donatas Motiejunas and Greg Brunner delivered 9 points each for Benetton. German Gabriel replied with 14 points for Estudiantes. Tyrone Ellis had 12 points in the loss.
