Regular Season Round 5: Roanne - Benetton TV 79-84

Benetton Treviso remained undefeated in the EuroCup regular season. They overcame Roanne in France to register the fifth straight win in Group F. The victory also allowed Benetton to clinch the top position in the standings. Donatas Motiejunas came up with 17 points for Benetton. Roanne in the meantime suffered the fifth loss in a row. The teams started the game evenly. They traded baskets before Roanne managed to pull a 22:20 lead at the first break. Benetton surged ahead in the second quarter. The visitors unloaded 24 points to eke out a 44:43 halftime advantage. Roanne did not allow Benetton to run away as they slowed their opponents down in the third term. Roanne succeeded defensively limiting the Treviso team to only 15 points and posting a 61:59 lead at the final intermission. But Benetton were not about to lose the first game at the tournament. Balanced effort helped Jasmin Repesa team to erase the deficit. They put their noses in front and rolled to yet another win at the end. Devin Smith accounted for 15 points. Alessandro Gentile and Ryan Toolson added 12 points each for Benetton. Uche Nsonwu-Amadi replied with 15 points for Roanne. Pape-Philippe Amagou had 14 points and 7 assists in the losing effort.
