1/16 Finals Round 2: Nantes - Szeged 93-72

Nantes won the 1/16 Finals duel against Szeged on the aggregate score 177-130. It was an easy night for French outfit who were hosts in Game 2. From the beginning Nantes players took over the game as they were determined not to allow Szeged any hope of making up for the deficit from Game 1. At the end of first quarter the score stood at 21-12. Second quarter was more evenly matched as teams focused more on offence than defence. It was a fairly high scoring quarter which Nantes won 28-23. As result, they held comfortable 49-35 lead at the halftime break. As the game was all but decided, in the second half hosts played with just enough intensity to maintain their lead. Sezeged players also looked like they are just waiting for the final buzzer. With 10 minutes left to play, Nantes was up 70-52. Not much changed in the final period as teams traded basket for basket for the most part. At the final buzzer the scoreboard showed 93-72 final score. Nantes will face SEAT Lami in the 1/8 Finals fixture. Mame Marie Sy Diop and Emilija Podrug led the winning side with 17 points apiece in this one. Jenna Smith came off the bench to follow with 16 points as well as Florine Basque who added 15. On the other side, Szeged got 22 points from Bernadett Nemeth. Anna Lakloth and Orsolya Frakasinzki also had a decent game as they chipped in 13 and 12 points respectively.
