Unics taught a good basketball lesson to Cedevita in Croatia tonight. The Russian powerhouse led from start to finish to post the second straight win in EuroCup Last 16 round. They topped Group I, while Cedevita slipped at 0-2 record. Kelly McCarty scored 22 points to lead the winners. The game had little story in it. Unics grabbed the lead from the start and never surrendered it. The visitors led by three points after a high-flying first quarter 26:23. The teams traded baskets in the second term as Unics were able to post a 41:38 lead at halftime. Unics used a massive rally in the third term to clear off. The visitors arrived at the final intermission up by 19 points. Cedevita had little to answer with in the fourth period and suffered a heavy loss at the end. Terrell Lyday had 20 points, 6 assists and 5 boards for Unics. Maciej Lampe tallied 17 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Dontaye Draper responded with 16 points and 6 assists for Cedevita. Vedran Vukusic netted 13 points in the defeat.
