Goettingen grabbed a key EuroCup win today. The German team upset Le Mans in France to seal their quarterfinal birth. Mike Scott delivered 20 points to pace the visitors. Goettingen climbed at 4-1 record on top of Group J. Le Mans slipped at 1-4 record after the loss. Le Mans had their backs against the wall entering the game. They had to win and surged ahead right from the start. The hosts built a narrow 22:19 lead after ten minutes of action. But Goettingen quickly adjusted away from home and started to dictate the tempo in the second quarter. The visitors unloaded 26 points in the period to arrive at halftime up by 5 points 45:40. Goettingen maintained the leading margin throughout the third quarter. The visitors entered the fourth frame up by five points 62:57. Led by Mike Scott and Dwayne Anderson Goettingen raced to a crucial win at the end. Dwayne Anderson finished with 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Trenton Meacham fired 14 points in the victory. Alex Acker answered with 18 points, 6 assists and 4 boards for Le Mans. Charles Lombahe-Kahudi and Benjamin Dewar chipped in 12 points apiece in defeat.
