Estudiantes completed their EuroCup Last 16 goal reaching the quarterfinal stage. They escaped with a narrow road win over Nymburk today to improve at 4-1 record on top of Group K. Estudiantes came from behind to claim a valuable win in this one. Pancho Jasen provided 18 points to lead the charge. Nymburk suffered the fifth loss in a row. Nymburk dominated the first period. They opened the game with an 8:0 surge and stayed in front throughout the quarter. Nymburk led 23:12 before Estudiantes got within five after ten minutes 18:23. Vladimir Stimac bolstered Nymburk lead back to double digits 39:29 midway through the second term. Nymburk marched on as they registered a 51:42 lead at halftime. Nik Caner-Medley and Josh Asselin connected from beyond the arc in the third period to pull Estudiantes closer. However Chester Simmons and Lenzly soothed things for the hosts as Nymburk arrived at the final intermission up by 7 points 69:62. The visitors surprised the Czech champions with a 10;0 rally early in the fourth term. Estudiantes led for some time before Chester Simmons leveled things up at 79 with three minutes to go. The teams remained tied at 84 within the last minute before Oliver gave the visitors an 86:84 lead. Chester Simmons knotted things up but Sergio Sanchez sank both free throws to put Estudiantes back in front. Lenzly had a chance to save the game for Nymburk but missed a jumper. Nik Caner-Medley fired 14 points and collected 9 rebounds for Estudiantes. Jayson Granger had 10 points in the win. Vladimir Stimac answered with 22 points for Nymburk. Chester Simmons netted 15 points in the loss.
