Cedevita send a strong message to the future opponents in EuroCup Final Eight. The Croatian team surprised Unics in Kazan to finish the tournaments Last 16 stage on a high note. The victory however turned out insufficient for Cedevita to finish in the first place in Group I. Unics won a tie-break advantage and clinched the top position in the standings. Bracey Wright dominated in the court scoring 27 points, collecting 6 boards and making three steals and three assists for Cedevita. Kelly McCarty scored 9 points in the first term but it was not enough for Unics to outscore Cedevita in the opening term. The Croatian team stayed close and entered the second term tied at 22. The visitors tipped off the second term with six consecutive points to pull in front. Unics immediately reacted with 11 straight points to regain the advantage. The roller-coaster action continued as Unics led by just two points at halftime 40:38. Ricky Minard and Lampe gave the hosts a 53:45 advantage midway through the third frame. Kelly McCarty ensured a 62:52 advantage late in the period. The Russian powerhouse headed into the fourth term up by eight points 64:56. Vedran Vukusic and Bracey Wright set the tone early in the fourth term. Cedevita started to work their way back into the game. Vedran Vukusic nailed 7 points in a row late in regulation when Cedevita accumulated a 78:76 lead. Marko Popovic leveled things up but Marino Bazdaric hit from beyond the arc and Bracey Wright added a free throw to keep Cedevita in charge. Vedran Princ and Marino Bazdaric went deadly from the stripe in the dying minutes to seal the winning outcome for the visitors. Marino Bazdaric dropped 20 points, while Vedran Vukusic had 19 points and 8 caroms in the win. Kelly McCarty and Ricky Minard finished with 21 points each for Unics.
