Unics advanced into EuroCup Final Four. They snatched a narrow home win over Pepsi Caserta and sealed an 8-point victory on aggregate. Pepsi Caserta gave late scares to Unics surging ahead but the Kazan outfit stayed calm and executed wisely at the end. Maciej Lampe was unstoppable for Unics with 31 points, 16 boards and 2 assists. It all looked just all right for Unics early in the game. The hosts outscored Pepsi Caserta 26:17 in the opening stanza. Unics maintained the lead throughout the second period. They recorded a 46:35 lead at the interval. But Pepsi Caserta turned things around in the third quarter. Desperately fighting for every ball the visitors outgunned Unics to trim the deficit at just four points. Caserta continued to stay aggressive in the fourth term and eventually grabbed a narrow one-point lead. But Maciej Lampe and Marko Popovic stepped up for Unics late in the game and sealed the win for the home team. Marko Popovic had 17 points and 6 assists for Unics. Vladimir Veremeenko provided 11 points, 8 boards and 4 assists in the win. Jumaine Jones answered with 23 points and 10 boards for Pepsi Caserta. Timothy Bowers had 15 points in defeat.
