Semi-Finals Game 1: Unics - Cedevita 87-66

Unics became the first EuroCup semifinalists. They proved strength against ambitious Cedevita in Treviso tonight. Terrell Lyday came up with 27 points, 5 boards, 4 steals and 3 assists to pace the winners. Cedevita quickly stepped in front at the start of the game. Damjan Rudez helped the Croatian team to a 9:5 lead. But Unics responded with a 10:0 run to take a 15:9 lead late in the period. Ricky Minard capped the opening stanza with four points in a row as the Kazan team took a 22:13 advantage. Terrell Lyday and Marko Popovic ensured a 30:14 advantage for Unics early in the second term. The margin grew at 20-point mark as Cedevita shot awful 2/17 from beyond the arc. Damjan Rudez stopped the rot but Unics ensured a comfortable 47:30 halftime advantage. Unics gained a 21-point lead early in the third term controlling the tempo. But Bazdaric hit from downtown and soon Dontaye Draper ignited an 8-point run from Cedevita as they cut the deficit at 12 points 48:60. Unics enlarged the margin to 17 points once again but Cedevita fought bravely and narrowed the gap at 12 points 55:67 with ten minutes remaining. Bracey Wright, Dontaye Draper and Damjan Rudez dragged Cedevita within nine points early in the fourth term restoring the intrigue. But Maciej Lampe converted a three-point play and Unics calmed down to cruise to the victory from now on. Kelly McCarty provided 18 points and 7 rebounds, while Maciej Lampe added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Damjan Rudez answered with 16 points for Cedevita. Bracey Wright finished with 15 points in defeat. Cedevita ended the game shooting woeful 6/27 from behind the arc.
